Diana Margaret Todd, who died 24 February, 2005, at the age of 79, was a scion of the Barons Napier & Ettrick (descended from the 8th Lord).

She was the former Diana Margaret Napier-Clavering, and was born in 1926, daughter of Major-General Noel Warren Napier-Clavering, CB, CBE, DSO (1888-1964), by his wife Margaret, dau of T.W. Vigers, of Montville, St Peter Port, Guernsey.

She married in 1950, Lt John Evelyn Gray Todd, RN, who died in 1978, and had issue, (i) Michael John Clavering (b. 1951); (ii) David Matthew (b. 1953); Philip Napier (b. 1956); Brian William (b. 1958).

The cremation takes place at Easthampstead Park Crematorium, Nine Mile Drive, Wokingham, Berks., on Friday 4 March, 2005. Memorial service at St. Mary the Virgin, Eversley, Hants., on Tuesday 15 March, 2005.

Lucinda Napier (b. 1971, nee Ward) wife of the Hon. Nicholas Alexander John Napier (b. 1971), younger son of the 14th Lord Napier & Ettrick, gave birth to a son, Charles Ludovic Percy, 1 August, 2005, at Queen Charlotte's Hospital. Mrs Napier is a daughter of Simon Charles Vivian Ward (b. 1942), and a granddaughter of Maj. Vivian Horrocks Ward who married in 1935, Leila Penelope, only daughter of Sir Edward Oswald Every, 11th Baronet.

Maryel Cecilia (Mimi) Stansfield (nee Napier), wife of Robert George Wilmot Stansfeld, gave birth to a daughter, Sophie Cecilia Rosalinde, 24 April, 2006, a sister for George Malcolm Wilmot, who was b. 22 July, 2003.
Mr Stansfield is the second son of Mr & Mrs John Stansfeld, and Mrs Stansfield is a daughter of the Hon Malcolm Napier (of the Lords Napier & Ettrick) and the former Lady Mariota Cecilia Murray, daughter of the 7th Earl of Mansfield & Mansfield.

The engagement was announced 1 March 2007 between A.J.M. (Jamie) Riddell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Alastair Riddell, of Glen Lyon, Perthshire, and Cecilia Frances Stephanie (Lily) Napier (b. 1976), scion of the Lords Napier & Ettrick, youngest daughter of the Hon ( Charles) Malcolm Napier (b. 1933), of Bardmony, Alyth, Perthshire, by his wife the late Lady Mariota Cecilia Murray, yr daughter of the 7th Earl of Mansfield & Mansfield.

Maj The 14th Lord Napier & (5th Baron) Ettrick, KCVO, Private Secretary to HRH The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon 1973-98, died 15 March, 2012. He was 81. Francis Nigel Napier was born 5 Dec, 1930, son of the13th Lord (Peerage of Scotland 1627; 4th Baron Ettrick, cr UK 1872); succeeded to the peerages and baronetcy (cr 1666) on his father's demise, 1954; married 1958, Delia Mary Pearson (a Bowes Lyon descendant), by whom he had issue, 2 sons and 2 daughters.

Served in the Scots Guards, was a Tory whip in the Lords and equerry to the late Prince Henry Duke of Gloucester. Appointed Princess Margaret's private secretary, comptroller & equerry in 1973; KCVO, 1992.

The elder son, Francis David Charles, Master of Napier, b 3 Nov 1962, succeeds to the family honours.
