Death notice from the Telegraph of 5 Jan 2010:
HOBHOUSE
John Spencer peacefully on Christmas Eve aged 99. WWII Gunner, horse
racing enthusiast and ex RSPCA chairman. Small Funeral Service at St
Leonards, Farleigh Hungerford on 13th January, 12 noon. Family flowers
only, donations to.—Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
S/Ldr John Spencer AFC born 1910, the son of Sir Reginald Arthur
HOBHOUSE 5th Bt and uncle of the present 7th Bt (whose marriage and
recent fathering of an ha were the subject of another posting). S/Ldr
Hobhouse married 1940 Mary (d 1991) dau of Dr Llewelyn ROBERTS of
Porthcawl.

Annette Hobhouse, wife of Charles, gave birth to a son, Frederick John Welshman, 1 Dec, 2011, a brother for Benjamin Charles Spinney Hobhouse born on 26 October 2009.
