Mark William Vestey (b. 1943), of Foxcote Manor, Andoversford, Gloucestershire, by his wife the former Rose Amelia Clifton (b. 1952), descended from the Bruce Baronets (created 1804).

Carina Vestey is a niece of the 3rd Baron Vestey, Master of the Horse to HM The Queen.

Commander William Scott Thomas, DSC, RN, b at St Asaph, 5 Nov 1903; died at Worthing, Sussex, 1983, married Mary Hilda Bertha Hemelryk, & they had issue:-

(i) Admiral Sir (William) Richard Scott Thomas, KCB (1987) OBE (1984), born 22 March 1932, educated at Downside, sometime Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, House of Lords; married 1959, Patricia Margaret, dau of Dr John Henry Cullinan (d 1957) of Fressingfield, Suffolk, and has issue 4 sons (Dominic b 1972, Gareth b 1967, George b 1973, Gavin (deceased), and 4 daughters (Victoria b 1970, Emma b 1974, Harriet b 1968, and Jemima b 1970). Admiral Sir Richard Thomas is a brother of:-

(ii) Lieutenant Commander Simon Scott Thomas, Royal Navy pilot who was killed in a flying accident in 1964. He married a Miss Hurlbatt. Their daughters:-

(i) Kristin A. Scott Thomas, OBE, Academy Award-nominated English actress was b. 24 May 1960, at Redruth, Cornwall. Matthew Charles Idiens, b. at Sturminster, 1970, who married at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, May 1996, the Hon Saffron Alexandra Vestey b 1971, 1st dau of the 3rd Baron Vestey, by his 1st wife, Kathryn. They have issue:-

(i) Alfred John S. Idiens, born at Westminster, London, May 1997.

The marriage took place, 18 May 1996, at St Andrew's, Chedworth, between Matthew Charles Idiens, only son of the late Cdr Simon Idiens, RN, and Mrs Simon Idiens, and the Hon Saffron Vestey, eldest daughter of Lord Vestey and Kathryn, Lady Vestey.

Widow of her beloved Bill, Captain the Honourable W.H Vestey, Scots

She was the dau of George Nesbitt ARMSTRONG (1883-1971, scion of the
Bts of that name, cr 1841, gs of the 1st Bt). She m 1939 Capt the Hon
William Howarth VESTEY (1912-ka1944) son and ha of the 2nd Baron
Vestey. They had two sons as above. She was raised to the rank of a
Baron's widow in 1955, the year following her son's succession to the
title as 3rd Baron Vestey.
