The engagement was announced 27 Apr 1995 between Harry James Rodolph Kenyon-Slaney, scion of the Kenyon Barons, eld son of Mr & Mrs Simon Kenyon-Slaney, & Laura Anne O'Reilly, dau of Capt and Mrs Derek O'Reilly, of Fisherton de la Mere, Wilts.

Natasha Branston (nee Kenyon-Slaney) scion of the Barons Kenyon, and
wife of Barney Branston, gave birth to a son, Samuel Peter Barnabas, 9
May, 2005, a brother for Oliver, b. 30 May, 2001, and Tobias, b. 19
Dec, 2003.

Colonel John Kenyon, OBE, MC, who has died aged 84, won an immediate MC as a mountain gunner in the Burma campaign during the critical battle of Kohima; some 35 years later he waged a successful campaign to restore his county council's name to Shropshire instead of the government-approved Salop.He wasa scion of the Barons Kenyon (Baron GB 1788, Baronet 1784).

He was b. 1921, a son of Lieutenant-Colonel Herbert Edward Kenyon, DSO (1881-1958) by his wife Gwendoline Ethel Graham Ommanney, and was educated at Marlborough.

Colonel Royal Artillery and General Staff, , Military Assistant to the C-in-C Far East Land Forces 1962-64, and Defence Naval and Military Attache, Belgium and Luxembourg, 1971-73; Shropshire County Councillor, 1977-85; a Freeman of Shrewsbury (Grand Master) and of the City of London; President of the Freemen of England, 1981-91; MC; OBE (Mil) 1970; Order of Leopold of Belgium, 1989; He was married and divorced 3 times...

The Dowager Baroness Kenyon, who died 28 January, 2008, was the widow
of the 5th Baron Kenyon, CBE (1917-93), sometime chairman of the
National Portrait Gallery and a Member of the Royal Commission on
Historical MSS. She was Leila Mary, dau of Commander John Wyndham
Cookson, RN, by his wife the former Mary Colquhoun, 1st dau, by his
1st wife, of Sir Alan Colquhoun of Luss, 6th Baronet. She married
1stly, Hugh William Jardine Ethelston Peel, Lieut Welsh Guards (see
the colls. for Buchanan-Jardine Bts, Debrett's pre 1945); married
2ndly, 1946, the 5th Baron Kenyon, who had succeeded to the peerage
(GB 1788) and Baronetcy (GB 1784), in 1927. He died 16 May 1993. She
leaves issue, incl. the 6th Baron Kenyon, b 13 July 1947. Funeral
service at St Chad's Church, Hanmer on Tuesday 5th February.

Ursula Jane (Janey) Compton, who died 7 April, 2012, aged 92, was chatelaine of Newby Hall, near Ripon, North Yorkshire

She was born 15 January, 1920 as Jane Kenyon-Slaney, a scion of the Barons Kenyon, daughter of Maj Robert Orlando Rodolph Kenyon-Slaney (1892-1965) by his first wife the former Lady Mary Cecilia Rhodesia Hamilton (d 1984), daughter of the 3rd Duke of Abercorn.

She was thrice wed, firstly in 1940 (divorced 1946) to Lt-Col David Ludovic Peter Lindsay, DSO (1900-71), scion of the Earls of Crawford & Balcarres; secondly, in 1946, as his 2nd wife (div 1950), Group Capt Max Aitken, DSO (afterwards Sir Max Aitken, the disclaimed 2nd Baron Beaverbrook, who d 1985); and thirdly, in 1951, to Robert Edward John (Robin) Compton (1922-2009), scion of the Marquesses of Northampton. She leaves two daughters from her marriage to Sir Max Aitken, and two sons from her marriage to Robin Compton. The elder son James is heir to the Farquharson of Invercauld clan chieftainship, and the younger Richard, is squire of Newby Hall.
