Infanta Cristina of Spain, Duquesa de Palma de Mallorca [younger daughter of King Juan Carlos], and her husband Iñaki Urdangarin, had their fourth child, Irene, at Clinica Teknon, Barcelona, on 5 June 2005.

Felipe, Prince of the Asturias (only son of King Juan Carlos of Spain and of his wife, née Princess Sophie of Greece and Denmark) and his wife, née Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, had their first child, Leonor, at Madrid on 31 October 2005.

Beltrán Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (son of the late Luis Gomez-Acebo y de Estrada and of his wife, the infanta Pilar of Spain [sister of King Juan Carlos]) and his wife, née Laura Ponte Martínez (b.Vigo 9 June 1973) had their first child, Luis Felipe, at Madrid on 1 July 2005.

Juana Alfonsa Milan y Quinones de Leon (daughter of King Alfonso XIII of Spain and of Beatrice Noon) died at Madrid on 16 May 2005. She is known to have had three sons and a daughter.

Bruno Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (son of the late Luis Gomez-Acebo y de Estrada and of his wife, the infanta Pilar of Spain [sister of King Juan Carlos]) and his wife, née Barbara Cano de la Plaza, had their second child, Guillermo, at Fondation Jimenez Diaz Hospital in Madrid on 23 November 2005.

Maria de la Asuncion (Marisol) de Baviera, née Mesia, died at Madrid on 30 November 2005.

[She was born at London on 30 September 1911, daughter of Fernando Mesia y Fitzjames-Stuart (himself the son of José Mesia, Duque de Tamames [himself the son of José Mesia, Duque de Tamames, and of his wife, née Angela Gayoso], and of his wife, née Maria de Asuncion Fitzjames-Stuart y Portocarrero, Duquesa de Galisteo [herself the daughter of Jaime Luis Fitzjames-Stuart, Duque de Alba, etc., and of his wife, née Maria Francisca Portocarrera de Palafox y Kirkpatrick, Duquesa de Peñaranda]) and of his wife, née Marie-Solange de Lesseps (herself the daughter of Ferdinand de Lesseps and of his wife, née Louise-Hélène Autard de Bragard). In 1933 she married José Eugenio, Infant of Spain, né Prince of Bavaria (son of Ferdinand, Prince of Bavaria, Infant of Spain, and of his wife, née Maria Teresa, Infanta of Spain). He died in 1966. She is survived by their two daughters. Two sons predeceased her.]
