Death at Stopham, West Sussex, 26 Oct, 1996, of William Frederick Geoffrey Nelson Barttelot, 91, son of the third Baronet.

The marriage took place at Petworth, 4 August, 2001, between Mr Nigel Weller, son of the late Major James Weller and of Mrs Weller, of Harare, Zimbabwe, and Sophie, [b.1973], second of the four daughters of Sir Brian Walter De Stopham Barttelot, OBE, 5th Baronet, and the former Hon [Mary Angela] Fiona Weld Forester. The bride is a granddaughter of the 7th Baron Forester. This peer had in his possession a licence of the time of Henry VIII, giving to John Forester, of Watling St, Co. Salop, the privilege of wearing his hat in the Royal presence...or so Debrett says.

Cdr James Nigel Walter Barttelot, RN (retired), died 2 January, 2002, aged 90, scion of the Barttelot Baronets. His second wife, Sara Patricia, was the widow of his cousin, Brig Sir Walter Barttelot, 4th Baronet. He was, therefor, also the step-father of his kinsman, the 5th Baronet.

Sophie Weller (nee Barttelot), wife since August, 2001, of Nigel Weller, gave birth to a son, James Torquil, 1 July, 2003.

Olivia Blakey (nee Barttelot) scion of the Barttelot Baronets, and wife of Christopher Blakey, gave birth to a son, George Archie Tom, 31 January, 2005, a brother for Milo and Harry.
