You show his death date as 29th June 1912 but I believe this to be wrong. McLaren was the MP for Crewe and the bye-election held as a result of his death was on this date.
This is according to my notes for a local political history I am writing. I will check again at the local library. |

He was the youngest child of the Liberal MP Duncan McLaren (1800–1886) and his third wife Priscilla Bright, a sister of the Radical MP John Bright. Two of his bothers, Charles McLaren, 1st Baron Aberconway and John also became Liberal Members of Parliament. Walter Mclaren was married in April 1883 to Eva Muller, who died on 16 August 1921.
