The engagement was announced 7 Nov, 1994 between Mr Christopher Bryan Godfrey-Faussett (b. 26 Aug, 1963), elder son of Capt Richard Hugh Godfrey-Faussett, Royal Artillery (b.28 June, 1932), by his wife Anne Granville, yr dau of Colonel Granville Murray, of Waterside House, Keir, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, and Lady Diana Bowes Lyon, daughter of the late Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne and of Mary Countess of Strathmore & Kinghorne.

From the Daily Telegraph Monday 10 April, 1995: 'Princess Margaret was present at the marriage on Saturday at St Fergus Kirk, Glamis, of Christopher Godfrey-Faussett, elder son of Mr & Mrs Richard Godfrey-Faussett, of Badlesmere, Kent, and Lady Diana Bowes Lyon, yr dau of the late Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and of Mary, Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne, of Glamis, Angus.'

Christopher's paternal grandfather was Bryan Trevor Godfrey-Faussett, CB, DSO, OBE, of The Old Rectory, Badlesmere, Faversham, Kent, (b. 28 Nov, 1896), married 1 Oct, 1925, Katherine Monica, 2nd dau of James Harper Paterson, of Harviestoun House, Gorebridge, Midlothian, Scotland.
Bryan was ADC to King George VI 1947-48, and was Commandant of the School of Military Engineering, 1945-48, &c.

Christopher's great-grandfather was Richard Fermor Godfrey-Faussett, Major in the Army (b. 20 Oct 1864, d. 7 July, 1940) m. 15 Dec, 1892, Annie Isabella Gow Watson (d. 1 July, 1958, aged 92) dau of W.F. Watson.

Christopher's great-great grandfather was Godfrey Trevelyan Godfrey-Faussett, of Heppington (which he sold in 1875), Major in the Army (b. 28 Feb 1840, d. 7 Sept, 1915) m. 15 Jan, 1863, Martha Jane (d. 28 Oct, 1904), eldest dau of Richard Wall Morris, of Rockenham, County Kilkenny, scion of an Irish landed gentry family.

Christopher's great-great-great grandfather was the Rev. Bryan Faussett, of Heppington, (b. 1811, d. 30 June, 1855) educ at Corpus Christi College Oxford (MA 1829) m 4 Oct, 1837, Helena Caroline (who married secondly, Walter Blackett Trevelyan and d. 14 March, 1898) dau of Sir John Trevelyan, 5th Baronet, of Nettletcombe Court, Somerset.

Lady Diana Godfrey-Faussett (nee Bowes Lyon) b. 1966, wife of Christopher Godfrey-Faussett, and daughter of the 17th Earl of Strathmore & Kinhhorne, gave birth to a son, George, 7 July, 2003, a brother for Laura Christian Elizabeth b. 1997, Fergus b. 4 Oct, 1998, & another sister born 29 Mar, 2001.
