Can I make a few amendments to the entries for the Earl and Viscounts St Vincent.
Admiral Sir John Jervis was first created an Earl in 1797 as stated, but that tile was restricted to the male line and as he had no sons at the age of 62 it was destined to die with him. So when he was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty in 1801 he was given the additional title of Viscount St Vincent of Meaford on 27 April 1801 with the remainder to his nephews, the sons of his sister Mary Ricketts. So when he died in 1823 the Earldom became extinct, but the Viscountcy passed to his nephew Edward Jervis Jervis (Ricketts) as stated, he was the 2nd Viscount not the 2nd Earl.
The 2nd Viscount was born on 1 April 1767 and married 1stly on 29 January 1790 the lady stated, they were divorced by Act of Parliament on 9 March 1799. He married 2ndly, Mary Anne Parker (died 31 January 1855) on 14 April 1810. He died aged 92 on 23 September 1859.
More to follow.
