The Dowager Lady Ellenborough, widow of Lord Ellenborough, the 7th
Baron, (1889-1945), died 20 August, 2002, aged 101 years.


She was born (Helen) Dorothy Lovatt, in 1901, the only daughter of
Harry William Lovatt, of County Down, and married 31 January, 1923,
the then Hon. Henry Astell Law, only child of the 6th Lord
Ellenborough, (1849-1931), by his wife, the former Alice Caroline
Astell.


Her husband, a Member of HM's Bodyguard of Hon. Corps of
Gentlemen-at-Arms, succeeded as seventh holder of the peerage, 22
January, 1931, and died 19 May, 1945.


Lady Ellenborough was the mother of two sons, (i), Richard Edward
Cecil, b. 1926, who succeeded as 8th Lord Ellenborough; & (ii), the
Hon. Cecil Towry Henry, b. 1931.


Her homes were at Little Park House, Brimpton, near Reading,
Berkshire, and latterly at Shockerwick House, Shockerwick, Bath.


The funeral service takes place at Holy Trinity Church, Warmwell,
Dorchester, Dorset, Friday 6 September, 2002, at 2.30 p.m.


The Hon. Cecil Towry Henry Law, who died 26 March, 2005, aged 73, was b. 17 Oct, 1931, a younger son of Maj the 7th Baron Ellenborough , MC (1889-1945) by his wife, Helen Doprothy Lovatt.

He married in 1957, Daphne Mary Jean, daughter of the Hon. Laurence Paul Methuen-Campbell (of the Barons Methuen), by whom he had a son, Edward, and three daughters, Cecilia, Marianne and Catherine.

A service of Thanksgiving is to take place at the Church of St James, Chipping Campden, 28 Apr, 2005.
