The engagement was announced 6 July, 2005, between the Hon. David Hew Dalrymple (b. 1963), second son of the 13th Earl of Stair, KCVO, MBE (1906-96), by his wife the former Davina Katharine Bowes Lyon; & Emma R. Woods, daughter of Mr & Mrs Peter Woods, of Betchworth, Surrey.

David Dalrymple is a kinsman of Queen Elizabeth II - his late maternal
grandfather was the Hon. Sir David Bowes Lyon, KCVO, younger brother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

The marriage tookn place 17 June 2006, at the Chapel of The Holy Trinity, Stonor, Oxfordshire, between John David James (Jamie) Dalrymple, 14th Earl of Stair (b. 4 September, 1961), eldest son of the 13th Earl of Stair, KCVO, MBE (1906-96), by his wife the former Davina Katharine Bowes Lyon (b. 1930); & the Hon. Emily Mary Julia Stonor (b. 1969), daughter of the 7th Baron Camoys, GCVO, PC (b. 16 April, 1940), Lord Chamberlain nof HM Royal Household and Chancellor of the Royal Victorian Order 1998-2000, by his wife the former Elisabeth Mary Hyde Parker (b. 1939).

The Earl of Stair is a great-nephew of the late Queen Elizabeth, Consort of George VI. His maternal grandfather, the Hon Sir David Bowes Lyon, KCVO, was Her Majesty's younger brother.

son, Alexander John Peter, 29 April, 2007,

Mrs Dalrymple is a daughter of Mr & Mrs Peter Woods, of Betchworth,

The Countess of Stair (née Stonor), wife since June 2006 of John David
James (Jamie) Dalrymple, 14th Earl of Stair (b. 4 September, 1961),

Geraldine Inez Antoinette Dalrymple-Hamilton, who died at Winchester,
4 Mar 2009, was the 2nd wife of Capt North Edward Frederick Dalrymple-
Hamilton of Bargany, CVO, MBE, DSC (b 1922), scion of the Earls of
Stair. She was former wife of Maj Rowland Beech, MC, of Cirencester, and dau of Maj Frank Harding; & married Capt Dalrymple-Hamilton in 1983. She was mother of Nicola Faulkner and Penelope Beech and grandmother of Rosie, Douglas and Kitty. Funeral Service at Holy Trinity Church, Wonston on Thursday 12th March 2009.

___.The marriage took place, 28 May 2011, between William D.H. (Billy) More Nisbett, scion of that LG family, and descended from the Earls of Stair, son of George Alan More Nisbett, of The Drum,
Edinburgh, by his wife the former Patrea MacDonald, & Charlotte F.D. Davison, daughter of the late Mr David Davison and of Mrs Davison, of North Canterbury, New Zealand.

Billy's great-great-grandmother was Lady Agnes Dalrymple, dau of the 9th Earl of Stair.

Capt The Hon Hew North Dalrymple, scion of the Earls of Stair, who was born 27 April, 1910, died 24 May, 2012, aged 102. He was the second son of the 12th Earl of Stair, KT, DSO (1879-1961), by his wife, the former Violet Harford (d 1968); married 20 Jun 1938, Mildred Helen (b 15 Nov 1903; d 1980), former wife of the 4th Baron Oranmore & Browne (1901-2002), and daughter of the Hon Thomas Henry Frederick Egerton (1876-1953) (scion of the Earls of Ellesmere, now Dukes of Sutherland), &c, by whom he had issue.

Lord Stair is the eldest son of the late 13th Earl of Stair, KCVO, MBE (1906-96), by his wife the former Davina Katharine Bowes Lyon (b. 1930), & Lady Stair is a daughter of the 7th Baron Camoys, GCVO, PC (b. 16 Apr 1940), Lord Chamberlain of HM Royal Household and Chancellor of the Royal Victorian Order, 1998-2000, by his wife, the former Elisabeth Mary Hyde Parker (b. 1939).

The Earl of Stair is a great-nephew of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. His grandfather was HM's yr brother, Sir David Bowes Lyon. Emily Stonor's brother, the Hon (Ralph) William Robert Thomas Stonor (b. 10 Sept 1974), married in 2004, Lady Ailsa Fiona Mackay (b. 1977), daughter of the 4th Earl of Inchcape and the Countess of Inchcape.
