     Edward John Marriott Briscoe was born on 28 September 1862.1 He was the son of Edward John Briscoe and Anna Rebecca Smith-Marriott.1 He married Diana Louisa Hartley, daughter of Colonel Robert Wilson Hartley, on 22 January 1891.1
     Edward John Marriott Briscoe gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 4th Brigade, North Irish Division, Royal Artillery.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for King's County.1 He lived at Riverdale, County Westmeath, Ireland.1 He lived at Screggan Manor, County Offaly, Ireland.1
