     He gained the rank of First World War.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1

     Irene Frances Nora Gough was the daughter of Colonel Hon. George Hugh Gough and Hilda Eve Moffatt.1 She married Colonel Henry Cecil Lloyd Howard on 2 January 1912.1 She died on 21 September 1951, leaving issue.1
      From 2 January 1912, her married name became Howard.1

     He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 16th Lancers.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He lived at Wigfair, Denbighshire, Wales.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1
