     Patience Mary Pulteney was born on 3 May 1910. She is the daughter of Kepple Pulteney and Hon. Lucia Frances Alice Darling. She married, firstly, Thomas Wolryche Guy Stansfeld on 28 November 1936. She and Thomas Wolryche Guy Stansfeld were divorced in 1948. She married, secondly, Leslie John in 1953.
     From 28 November 1936, her married name became Stansfeld. From 1953, her married name became John.
