     Willem Gerrit Baron Dedel was born on 2 November 1791 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.1 He was the son of Jonkheer Pieter Samuël Dedel and Johanna Elisabeth Backer.1 He died on 11 April 1860 at age 68 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands, unmarried.1
     He was created Baron on 10 May 1849.1 He was Minister-Resident at Rio de Janiero.1 He held the office of Dutch Ambassador to Hanover.1
