     Maj.-Gen. Stephen Poyntz was baptised on 16 October 1755.1 He was the son of Newdigate Poyntz and Elizabeth Castleton.2 He married Elizabeth (?)1 He died on 3 April 1837 at age 81, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the 1st Life Guards.1
