     From April 1886, her married name became Preston.

     He was appointed Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.)2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.2 He held the office of Private Secretary to The Princess Royal.2 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 2010.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 2018.3
