     Captain Cyril Gerald Valerian Wellesley was born on 24 June 1879.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Gerald Valerian Wellesley and Kathleen Carleton.2 He married Lilias Mason Summers, daughter of James Woolley Summers and Edith Mason, on 4 February 1909.1 He died on 14 March 1915 at age 35, from wounds received in action.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Lincolnshire Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War.

Gerald Valerian Wellesley and Kathleen Carleton, on 4 February 1909.1 She married Lt.-Col. Reginald Bastard, son of John Algernon Bastard and Olivia Gertrude Louisa Claremont, on 6 February 1919.1 She died on 20 November 1974.2

     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, and was wounded.1
