     William Barry was born in 1609.2 He was the son of James Barry and Catherine FitzGerald.1,2 He married Ellen McCarthy, daughter of Cormac 'Oge' McCarthy.2 He died after 1656.1
     In 1641 he was attainted for siding with Confederate Catholics.2 In 1642 he was indicted for treason.2 He lived at Lislee, County Cork, Ireland.1
