Nellie Samuel was born on 2 July 1883.1 She was the daughter of Marcus Samuel, 1st Viscount Bearsted and Fanny Elizabeth Benjamin.1 She married, firstly, Major Walter Henry Levy, son of Henry Levy, on 7 April 1903.1 She married, secondly, Basil Ionides, son of Luke Ionides, on 23 May 1930.1 She died on 14 November 1962 at age 79.1
     From 7 April 1903, her married name became Levy.1 From 23 May 1930, her married name became Ionides.1

     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1
