Nellie Samuel was born on 2 July 1883.1 She was the daughter of Sir Marcus Samuel, 1st Viscount Bearsted and Fanny Elizabeth Benjamin.1 She married, firstly, Major Walter Henry Levy, son of Henry Levy, on 7 April 1903.1 She married, secondly, Basil Ionides, son of Luke Ionides, on 23 May 1930.1 She died on 14 November 1962 at age 79.1
     From 7 April 1903, her married name became Levy.1 From 23 May 1930, her married name became Ionides.1
