     Lt.-Col. Miles Rafe Ferguson Courage was the son of Edward Courage.1 He married Kathleen Roma Beatty, daughter of Captain David Longfield Beatty and Katherine Edith Sadleir, on 5 October 1899.1 He died on 4 April 1961.1
     Lt.-Col. Miles Rafe Ferguson Courage was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.1

     Sir John Acland was the son of John Akeland and Margaret Radcliffe.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Rolle, daughter of George Rolle.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Portman, daughter of Sir Henry Portman.1 He died in 1620.1 His will (dated 9 February 1619/20) was probated on 4 July 1620.1
     Sir John Acland held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Saltash in 1586/87.1 He was invested as a Knight on 15 March 1603/4 at Tower of London, The City, London, England, by King James I.1 He lived at Columb-John, Broadclyst, Devon, England.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.1
