     Charles Alexander Somerset was born on 21 August 1901.1 He was the son of Henry Charles FitzRoy Somerset and Isabella Goodsir Mowat.1 He married, firstly, Audrey Vernon Thompson, daughter of George W. L. Thompson, on 15 June 1926.1 He married, secondly, Winifred May Helyar, daughter of Joseph Arthur Helyar and Emily Louise Perry, on 22 January 1955.1 He died in 1981.1
     Charles Alexander Somerset was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He lived at Malt House Barn, Kingsley, Hampshire, England.1
