Captain Charles Gordon was the son of Captain Peter Gordon.1 He married Rachel Gordon, 10th of Abergeldie, daughter of Alexander Gordon, 8th of Abergeldie and Euphemia Graham, circa 5 July 1698.1
Captain Charles Gordon lived at Pitchaise.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1696 in the service of the Lauder's Foot.1 In 1715 he built the house at Birkhall that is now part of the Balmoral estate.1
