Colonel Harold Hammond Aykroyd was born on 7 April 1896.1 He was the son of Sir William Henry Aykroyd, 1st Bt. and Emma Louisa Hammond.1 He married, firstly, Nina Marguerite Hulse, daughter of Edward John Hulse, on 14 December 1926.1 He and Nina Marguerite Hulse were divorced in 1938.1 He married, secondly, Kathleen Ellen Tyrrell-Gray, daughter of Harry Tyrrell-Gray, on 29 December 1941.1 He died on 6 January 1974 at age 77.1
