Sir Robert Baird of Saughtonhall, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1690.1 He was the son of Sir James Baird of Saughtonhall, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Hamilton.1 He married, firstly, Janet Baikie, daughter of Robert Baikie, before 1729.1 He married, secondly, Helen Hope after 1733.1 He died on 8 September 1740.1
Sir Robert Baird of Saughtonhall, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Baird, of Saughton Hall, co. Edinburgh [N.S., 1696] in May 1715.1
He had one other son and a daughter by his first wife.2

Sir David Baird of Saughtonhall, 4th Bt. was born circa 1729.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Baird of Saughtonhall, 3rd Bt. and Janet Baikie.1 He died on 1 July 1745 at Lisle, France, from wounds received in action.1
