     Charles Barran was born on 22 November 1849.1 He was the son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst.1 He married Louisa Annie McNab, daughter of John McNab, on 8 June 1876.1 He died on 7 November 1929 at age 79.1
     Charles Barran held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon in 1894.1 He lived at Berry Pomeroy, Totnes, Devon, England.1
