     Major Lawrence Hew Williams Barrington was born on 18 June 1928.1 He was the son of Richard Irving Williams Barrington and Constance Elizabeth Mary Manders.1 He married, firstly, Patricia Anne Isabella Whitson, daughter of Ralph William Whitson, on 14 October 1950.1 He and Patricia Anne Isabella Whitson were divorced in 1968.1 He married, secondly, Merle Aurelia Ropner, daughter of Sir Leonard Ropner, 1st Bt., in September 1968.1 He died in October 1998 at age 70.1
     Major Lawrence Hew Williams Barrington was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Coldstream Guards.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry (Prince of Wales Own).1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Malayan Campaign between 1948 and 1950, where he was mentioned in despatches.1
