     Captain Ronald Tress Barry was born on 23 January 1888.1 He was the son of Douglas Herron Barry and Rose Grace Gowlland.1 He married, firstly, Elspeth Sophia Louise Sinclair in 1909.1 He and Elspeth Sophia Louise Sinclair were divorced in 1913.1 He married, secondly, Madge Dorrington Bangay, daughter of Richard Bangay, in 1919.1
     Captain Ronald Tress Barry fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Scots Guards.1
