     Mary Dill was born on 17 March 1845.1 She was the daughter of Robert Foster Dill and Catherine Haughton Rentoul.1,2 She married Richard Dawson Bates on 11 April 1872.1 She died on 1 May 1931 at age 86.1
     From 11 April 1872, her married name became Bates.1

     Robert Foster Dill was born, on 17 April 1811.1 He was the son of Reverend Samuel Dill and Hester (?).2 He married Catherine Haughton Rentoul, daughter of Lieut James Rentoul, on 5 February 1841.1 He died on 20 July 1893 at age 82.1
     Soc 1879 Pres Ulster Med -80.1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.).3 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).3 He graduated from Glasgow Univ Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) ) in 1834.1 In 1865 Coroner City of Belfast.1 In 1868 Prof of Midwifery Queen's College Belfast.1
