Sir Roger Beckwith, 1st Bt. was the son of Arthur Beckwith and Mary Wyvill.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Clapham, daughter of Sir Christopher Clapham and Margaret Oldfield.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Jenings, daughter of Sir Edmund Jenings, at Ripon, Yorkshire, North Riding, England.1 He died on 6 December 1700, having shot himself.1 His will (dated 7 May 1690) was probated on 28 February 1700/1.1 He was buried at Ripon, Yorkshire, North Riding, England.1
