     Edmund Reynolds Colby was born on 6 February 1833 at Great Torrington, Devon, England.1 He was the son of Thomas Colby and Mary Palmer.1 He married Isabella Susan Jane Palmer, daughter of John Nicholas Palmer and Mary Row, on 5 March 1863.1 He died on 24 August 1885 at age 52.1
