     John Monson Shaw was born on 1 October 1832.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert William Shaw and Sophia Cornwall.1 He married Sarah Pain Francklyn, daughter of Thomas Francklyn, on 8 February 1872.1 He died on 4 September 1912 at age 79, without issue.1
     John Monson Shaw was educated in 1842 at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1
