Vice-Admiral Sir Richard Bickerton, 1st Bt. was born on 23 June 1727.1 He was the son of Lieutenant Henry Bickerton and Mary Dowdal.1 He was baptised on 4 July 1727 at St. Mary Magdalen, Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England.1 He married Mary Anne Hussey, daughter of Thomas Hussey, on 2 January 1758 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, London, England.1 He died on 25 February 1792 at age 64, from apoplexy.1 His will (dated 9 August 1780) was probated on 19 January 1793.1
