     Ian Gow was born on 10 February 1937.1 He was the son of Dr. Alexander Edward Gow.1 He married Jane Elizabeth Packe, daughter of Major Charles William Christopher Packe and Hon. Margaret Lane Fox, in 1966.1 He died on 30 July 1990 at age 53 at Sussex, EnglandG, killed by an IRA car bomb.1
     He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Eastbourne between 1974 and 1990.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1979 and 1983, to the Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.1
