     John Hingston was born on 10 March 1737 at Kingsbridge, Devon, England.1 He was the son of James Hingston and Elizabeth Brooking.1 He married, firstly, Rachel Fox, daughter of George Fox and Anna Debell, on 31 August 1760 at Austell, Cornwall, England.1 He married, secondly, Rachel Collier, daughter of Joseph Collier and Dorothy Fox, in 1763.1 He died on 29 December 1816 at age 79.1
