     Lt.-Col. George Oldroyd Borwick was born on 7 March 1879.1 He was the son of Joseph Cooksey Borwick and Ellen Elizabeth Oldroyd.1 He married Hon. Mary Cavendish, daughter of Sir Henry Anson Cavendish, 4th Baron Waterpark and Emily Stenning, on 14 May 1915.1 He died on 27 June 1964 at age 85, without issue.1
     Lt.-Col. George Oldroyd Borwick was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Surrey and Sussex Yeomanry, Royal Field Artillery.1 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He was decorated with the Legion of Honour.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Croydon between 1918 and 1922.1
