     Major Thomas Edward Brodie Howarth was born on 21 October 1914.1 He is the son of Frank Fielding Howarth.1 He married Margaret Teakle, daughter of Norman Teakle.
     He was an assistant master between 1938 and 1939 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1944 and 1945, in North-West Europe.1 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.1 He was the headmaster between 1948 and 1952 at King Edward's School, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.1 He was second master between 1952 and 1962 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1953.1 He was High Master in 1962 at St. Paul's School, London, England.1

     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
