     Archibald Campbell was the son of Sir Duncan Campbell, 2nd of Glenorchy and Margaret Douglas.1 He married, firstly, Mariota Campbell, daughter of Iver Campbell of Ardtarua, before 1537.1 He married, secondly, Isabel Grant, daughter of John Grant of Culcabok, after 1537.1 He died on 29 April 1552.1
     He lived at Glenlyon, Scotland.1
     He was the ancestor of the Campbells of Glenlyon, of Duneaves, of Roro and of Knockhill.1
