     He was ancestor of the Grants of Glenmoriston.1

     Sir Edward William Crosbie, 5th Bt. was born circa 1755.2 He was the son of Sir Paul Crosbie, 4th Bt. and Mary Daniel.3 He married Castiliana Westenra, daughter of Warner Westenra and Lady Hester Lambart, on 14 December 1790.2 He died on 5 June 1798 at Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland, executed for his participation in the rebellion.2
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1770 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Crosbie, of Maryborough, Queen's County [I., 1630] in November 1773.2 He was admitted to King's Inns in 1778 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.2 He was an eminent balloonist.2
