John Galwey was born on 19 June 1706.1 He was the son of William Galwey and Margaret MacCurtin.1 He married, firstly, Mary O'Madden, daughter of Anthony O'Madden and Catherine Power, on 9 January 1725/26.1 A settlement for the marriage between him and Anstace Mandeville was made on 23 October 1752.2 He died in November 1781 at age 75.2
