     Samuel Tevis was born in March 1788 at Baltimore County, Maryland, U.S.A..2 He was the son of Robert Tevis and Martha Crow.2 He married Sarah Jane Greathouse, daughter of Isaac Greathouse, on 23 December 1817 at Shelby County, Kentucky, U.S.A..2 He died in May 1841 at age 53 at Shelby County, Kentucky, U.S.A..2 His will (dated 6 April 1841) was probated in May 1841.2

     Sarah Jane Greathouse was born in 1795.1 She was the daughter of Isaac Greathouse.2 She married Samuel Tevis, son of Robert Tevis and Martha Crow, on 23 December 1817 at Shelby County, Kentucky, U.S.A..2 She died in 1896.1
     From 23 December 1817, her married name became Tevis.1
