Sir Whitmore Acton, 4th Bt. was born circa 1677.2 He was the son of Sir Edward Acton, 3rd Bt. and Mary Walter.1 He married Elizabeth Gibbon, daughter of Matthew Gibbon and Hester (?).1 He died on 17 January 1731/32.1,3 He was buried at Morville, Shropshire, England.2 His will (dated 19 December 1731) was probated on 27 March 1732.2
Sir Whitmore Acton, 4th Bt. matriculated at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 14 February 1694/95.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bridgnorth between 1710 and 1713.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Acton, of Aldenham [Aldenham Hall, in Morville], Shropshire [E., 1644] on 28 September 1716.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire from 1727 to 1728.2
