     Henry Booth was born on 4 April 1789.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Booth and Esther Noble.1 He married Ellen Crompton, daughter of Abraham Crompton, on 27 April 1812.1,3 He died on 28 March 1869 at age 79.1,3
     Henry Booth was secretary and treasurer of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway between 1826 and 1846.1 He was first secretary of the LNWR between 1846 and 1848.1 He was a director of the LNWR between 1848 and 1859.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.3 He was a railway projector and corn merchant at Liverpool, England.1
