Jessie Bowyer-Smijth was born illegitimately, but legitimised in Scotland in 1918 on 19 January 1862.1 She was the daughter of Sir William Bowyer-Smijth, 11th Bt. and Eliza Fechnie Malcolm.1 She married Edward Tidswell on 9 August 1886.1 She died on 28 November 1940 at age 78.1
