     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 6th King Edward's Own Cavalry, Indian Army.1

     Cyril Charles Stafford Northcote was born on 22 September 1874.2 He was the son of Stafford Charles Northcote and Rosa Annette Wilson.1,3 He married Adela Bowyer-Smijth, daughter of Sir William Bowyer-Smijth, 11th Bt. and Eliza Fechnie Malcolm, on 6 January 1903.1 He died on 9 November 1946 at age 72.2
     He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches.2

      Margaret Joan McCowan usually went by her middle name of Joan.1 From 24 June 1922, her married name became Bowyer-Smyth.1 She gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Women's Royal Army Corps (Territorial Army).1 She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1952.1
