     Sir Edward Montague Compton Mackenzie was born on 17 January 1883 at West Hartlepool, County Durham, England.1 He was the son of Edward Compton Mackenzie and Virginia Bateman.1 He married, firstly, Faith Stone, daughter of Reverend E. D. Stone, in 1905.1 He married, secondly, Christina MacSween, daughter of Malcolm MacSween, in 1962.1 He married, thirdly, Lilian MacSween, daughter of Malcolm MacSween, in 1965.1 He died on 30 November 1972 at age 89 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1
     Sir Edward Montague Compton Mackenzie was an author.1
