     Major Nigel Hugh Alexander Cowie was the son of Lt.-Col. Howard Elphinstone Cowie.1 He married Hon. Rosalind Juliana Brooke, daughter of Sir John Warden Brooke, 2nd Viscount Brookeborough and Rosemary Hilda Chichester, on 2 March 1973.1 He died in 1991.1
     Major Nigel Hugh Alexander Cowie gained the rank of Major in the service of the 16th/5th Queen's Royal Lancers.1
