     He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Ordinary Seaman in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Sir Ian George Lorraine Critchett, 3rd Bt. was born on 9 December 1920.2 He is the son of Sir George Montague Critchett, 2nd Bt. and Innes Wiehe.2 He married, firstly, Paulette Mary Lorraine Humfrey, daughter of Colonel Henry Brabazon Humfrey, on 9 October 1948.2 He married, secondly, Jocelyn Daphne Margaret Hall, daughter of Commander Christopher Mildmay Hall and Agnes Laura Margret Broughton, on 10 February 1964.2
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.2 He graduated from Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Critchett, of Harley Street, London [U.K., 1908] on 30 May 1941.2 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant between 1942 and 1946 in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.2 He was with the Foreign Service between 1948 and 1980.2 He lived in 2003 at Uplands Lodge, Pains Hill, Limpsfield, Surrey, England.2
