Sir John Raymond Burrell, 9th Bt. was born on 20 February 1934.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Walter Raymond Burrell, 8th Bt. and Hon. Anne Judith Denman.2 He married, firstly, Rowena Frances Pearce, daughter of Michael H. Pearce, on 3 January 1959.1 He and Rowena Frances Pearce were divorced in 1971.1 He married, secondly, Margot Lucy Thatcher, daughter of Frederick Ernest Thatcher, on 1 July 1971.1 He died on 29 May 2008 at age 74 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.3
