     Hon. Evelyn Constance Handcock was born on 3 December 1897.1 She is the daughter of Albert Edward Handcock, 5th Baron Castlemaine of Moydrum and Annie Evelyn Barrington.2 She married Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles Henry Gairdner, son of Charles Arthur Gairdner, on 19 May 1925.1
     From 19 May 1925, her married name became Gairdner.

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles Henry Gairdner is the son of Charles Arthur Gairdner.2 He married Hon. Evelyn Constance Handcock, daughter of Albert Edward Handcock, 5th Baron Castlemaine of Moydrum and Annie Evelyn Barrington, on 19 May 1925.1
     Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles Henry Gairdner was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the service of the 10th Hussars.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.).1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He held the office of Governor of Western Australia between 1951 and 1963.1
